Homunculus

Homunculus = a miniature, fully formed individual

before mushrooms pop up from the ground, they are already fully formed. sometimes inside an egg.
they sit there, waiting for the right conditions.

then, the rain swells them up, and boom, hello world.

homunculi come in many forms, in different kinds of creatures.

I’m interested in these moments of birth. Fragile, thin, fleshy, soft, sacred, sudden.

Also, it’s a bit strange to peek into these intimate moments of nonhuman lives. sometimes I wonder if it’s better to give them more privacy.
